Ndamukong Suh hit with $100,000 fine for low block against Minnesota

The NFL has levied its first fine of the season, and it’s a beaut: $100,000 against Detroit’s Ndamukong Suh for a low block on Minnesota center John Sullivan on Sunday.

The hit occurred just after Detroit’s DeAndre Levy intercepted a Christian Ponder pass. Suh came in low on Sullivan, taking him out at the knees and sending him to the turf. The immediate consensus was that Suh’s move was a dirty play and one likely worthy of disciplinary action.

Lions’ Ndamukong Suh takes a cheap shot on Vikings player

Detroit Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh is often viewed as the NFL’s dirtiest player.

During the Lions’ 34-24 win over the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, Suh showed there is a good reason why.

Vikings quarterback Christian Ponder attempted a pass to Jerome Simpson that was tipped by rookie cornerback Darius Slay on Sunday. Lions linebacker DeAndre Levy caught the ball and raced 33-yards for a touchdown, but that score was nullified because Suh was penalized for an illegal low block.
