He’s being held in prison without bail while several Massachusetts jurisdictions sort out which, if any, charges to bring against him. However, he may still be connecting with fans, at least those who take the time to write him.

Belichick on Hernandez: It’s ‘sad, sad day’

In his first comments since Aaron Hernandez was charged with murder, Patriots coach Bill Belichick expressed remorse, saying it was a “sad, sad day” and that he was “shocked and disappointed” that one of his players was connected to a situation like this.

Mourners at Odin Lloyd’s funeral service urged not to harbor resentment

MATTAPAN, Mass. – As Odin Lloyd’s coffin was lifted into the hearse, a chant went up from men wearing blue football jerseys.

“Odin! Odin! Odin!”

Then the door of the black car was closed, and the men stumbled away, tears streaming down their faces.

More than 500 people arrived at a church here Saturday to grieve for a man who spent his life playing for crowds of only a few dozen. Odin Lloyd, the exuberant semi-pro linebacker from St. Croix who died in one of the worst ways imaginable, was remembered in one of the best ways possible.

Nearly a dozen law enforcement officers, including a K-9 unit, searched the North Attleboro, Mass. home of New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez for more than three hours on Saturday afternoon, exiting shortly after 5 p.m. ET with about 10 paper bags, Mike Rodak of ESPN Boston reports.

Hernandez has not been placed under arrest, though there are multiple reports that there is a “paper warrant”, believed to be on a charge of obstruction of justice, that Massachusetts State police have not yet executed.

Report: Police believe Aaron Hernandez destroyed surveillance system, cellphone

Massachusetts State police have obtained a warrant to search the North Attleboro home of New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez based on evidence that the 23-year-old intentionally destroyed the sophisticated security system that guarded his $1.3 million home, according to ABC News.

In addition to the damaged security system, a cellphone belonging to Hernandez was also turned over to investigators “in pieces” by his attorney. Another circumstance that has raised alarm bells with authorities is that Hernandez allegedly hired “a team of house cleaners” on Monday.
