Arian Foster turns columnist’s anti-Texans jabs into his own Twitter avatar

If it’s the NFL postseason, it’s time for Patriots fans and columnists to ratchet their annoying tendencies up another few notches. Yes, they’ve reached many Super Bowls in recent years, and even won a few, and yes, we’re all jealous of their success. But there’s winning with grace … and then there’s the Boston Globe’s Dan Shaughnessy.

In a predictably trolling column, Shaughnessy takes shot after shot at the Houston Texans, the Patriots’ upcoming division series opponent. He calls the Texans “fraudulent” and reaches back to the ’30s for a “tomato cans” reference. The whole column is a fine stew of chickenhawk yapping, but here’s the money line:

“The 2012-13 Texans? Pure frauds. The worst 11-1 team in the history of the NFL. These Texans have absolutely zero chance of beating New England here next week. And everybody knows that this is true.”

Ray Lewis’ final pre-game dance will fire you up

If Ray Lewis maintains his stance that the 2012 NFL season will be his last, what you’re about to see is the last pre-game dance from Lewis as he comes out of the tunnel during a Baltimore Ravens home game. As always, Lewis sent his teammates and the Ravens fans into a frenzy, which was obviously enhanced with the knowledge that it’s probably the last time they’ll see it. When the Houston Texans beat the Cincinnati Bengals in Saturday’s playoff game, it insured that the Ravens could not host another playoff game after today’s contest against the Indianapolis Colts.
